Preparations That Need to be Done Before Mixing and Cooking your Home-Made Pot Pie

The items that you will need is a large mixing bowl, a regular sized microwavable bowl, a skillet or frying pan, and a medium to large baking dish. It is best to go ahead and pre-heat your over to around 350 degrees. It is imperative that you have these things or you will not be able to successfully make this delicious dish for your family! The good thing is that just about every household already has all of these things in their kitchen cabinets.

Ingredients Needed to Make this Particular Home-Made Pot Pie

Some of the ingredients within this recipe can be substituted for other things according to your personal preferences. First you will need at least two boneless chicken breasts. You will need to cut them up into small chunks. Next, you need go into your cabinets and find at least two cans of cream of chicken soup, two or three cans of mixed vegetables, and two packs of crackers. I usually prefer to use the round Ritz crackers because they are fluffy. The only thing left to get is about 2 or 3 tablespoons of butter.

How to Actually Prepare your Home-Made Chicken Pot Pie

The first thing that you need to do is lightly brown the chicken in your skillet. It doesnít need to be thoroughly cooked, but you do want to make sure that it is partially or most of the way done. Once youíre chicken is done, you can leave it in the skillet. Next, you need to get the large mixing bowl, the cans of mixed vegetables, and the cans of cream of chicken soup. Mix them all into the large mixing bowl until everything is nicely coated with the cream of chicken soup.

After you do all of this, it is time to mix the chicken down into the mixture of soup and vegetables. Once everything is mixed together, you can pour all of the contents within the mixing bowl down into the baker. Put the baker aside and get the butter and crackers. At this time, you need to melt the butter in the microwave and crush up the crackers into small pieces. Then, takes the crushed crackers and spread them over on top of the mixture in the baker and pour the melted butter on top of the crackers. At this time, all that is left to do is place the baker into the oven for twenty to thirty minutes. The amount of ingredients can change to make a smaller or larger pot pie. You can be the judge of what you actually need for your particular family. The ingredients that I provided make a pot pie big enough for around eight to ten servings.
